It caused the fall of Rome and helped with the end of the USSR. All the stimulus jobs in my area have a large percentage of illegals employed. With Nancy Pelosi saying these illegals being true American Patriots and the back bone of this country's work force when most won't even learn our language and Obama stopping e-varify and raids by ICE on these illegals what are they thinking. Are the votes of these illegals more important to them than the country?
 
Multiculturalism can't work because culture is a rule for people in a community to get along. IF you have more than one rule, tehy will conflict and harmony is broken. AS for your statement, no nation last forever, and Rome is not multicultural, but multiethnic. They insist the citizens follow Roman culture. There downfall was caused because the Goth entered their land illegally and the Romans latter said it was OK. The Goth got angry because they were promise free food from The Romans and the Romans went there to investigate and saw there far more GOths there than expected. THey sent troops to calm them down and they attacked and destroyed the Roman troops weakening the Romans for other invasions.

What usually happens with nations that have "multi-cultured populations" is the groups intermarry and the different cultures no longer become distinctive.

Even the term "Anglo-Saxon," really is the product of two different cultures--the Angles and the Saxons.
 
Actually the flood gates opened up for illegals under Bush with the blessing of McCain. Those 2 insisted that we need them here to "do the work Americans won't do." Now, 8 years later, they're all living better than us.

Don't try to pin that on Obama, who just walked into office 2 months ago.
