I went and saw this during the week.
I didn't look too much into it before going. I kept getting told bits and bobs about it being created over a long period of time and a vast amount of money being spent on it. Let's face it, over 10 years most of the money was probably wages

(Kidding)
The storyline left me underwhelmed. I'm not big into the kind of storyline it revolved around. I was reminded a little of other films such as Braveheart and Matrix. I could predict where things were going from early on in the plot. I don't think it should've been as predictable as all that with 10 years focus on it. Although admittedly I guess most of that time would've been on effects rather than storyline related.
I have since read reviews on what people thought of trailers and graphics, such as they looked like they were from a game. I have to say, when watching it....I didn't get that feeling.
I will say this for the movie, when watching, I could truly believe Pandora existed and that they were allowing people to film them. I loved seeing all the wee bits and bobs of the world, and the interactions of the characters. This made the movie worth watching, even if I wouldn't watch it a 2nd time.
The 3D effect, I was left feeling a little disappointed with. One friend said he was disorientated by it to begin with but got used to it. It was his first 3D.
Another friend said, she didn't believe this movie was to make things jump out at you, it was more to allow you to fully explore the world of Pandora. Which I could understand afterwarRAB.
Having seen Final Destination in 3D (which in my opinion was the only reason for seeing it but that's another thread), I was expecting things to jump out at me, once I got used to the idea that that's not what this one was about, I got emersed in the world being depicted. Sometimes I would see it as a blur, but I'm not so sure if that was the movie or my eye sight!
Over all it wasn't the worst way to pass a few hours, but not something I would see again
*edit: 3D doesn't cost extra here
