"&#-6164;a carte" packages

Still waiting for WSBK on my end. Can anyone confirm that they have WSBK on the new platform in Quebec (either A LA CARTE or TOP packages)?

It's been 4 days and two trouble tickets have been opened with tech support, still no WSBK.

I thought it would be as easy as adding WSBK into the new packages on Bell's end but it sure seems to be taking a long time...

Appreciate your feedback.

Yes, I know it sounds weird that Teletoon retro was a deal breaker, but I was also concerned about the bad feedback I read about the 9241 PVR... My SA 8300 HD works very well, so I was thinking : why to switch to an unreliable PVR and on top of that to pay 5 $ more (this was "The favourites" :p ) per month than i am currently at Videotron ? There you go the dealbreaker...:):) .
It's funny how it turned out the WEB site is wrong (even now after almost a week they still haven't corrected the errors...) when on February the 2nd a supervisor from the programming department confirmed to me that Teletoon Anglais Retro is on "a la carte" in the system !!! She even thanked me for flagging the error and promised it will be corrected ASAP ! I was quite naive, it seems now...

With the new package, RDS and RDS HD count has 1 channel. Same for TSN and TSN HD.... and TSN2 is free with TSN/TSNHD

The $5 price difference between Ontario and the Rest of Canada (excluding Quebec) is the $5 Bell Bundle discount, which Bell assumes everyone in Ontario is eligible to receive.

After picking up a la carte package.

You can't pick only one with basic, well I don't think so, Panache?

according to the bell tv website, here is their programming brochure link:

http://www.bell.ca/web/tv/en/qc/pdfs/channels/channels.pdf

now is very much understandable. And Panache70, that was working hard to get all the information a big thank you for helping me.appreciated it.

Why everyone in Ontario, and not everyone in B.C., for example?

I'm moving soon and was going to stay with Videotron until I found out those new packages from Bell TV.
The HD PVR is sold at 299$ with a 2-yr contract. What baffles me is what you can read in the "pricing details" on the website when you order the PVR in a bundle:

If this helps, when I signed up for the Best of the Best package on Feb 1st, it took 4 days to get WSBK on my guide.

It took about 6 calls and 2 trouble tickets...

Good luck.

I am giving up with switching to Bell, I am staying with Videotron for a while... I bought one HD PVR (9241) and 1 standard HD terminal (6131) yesterday from Best Buy, I had my installation scheduled for this morning but in the end I canceled everything and I returned the equipment to the store... The total cost of switching to Bell (considering that I keep the same type of receivers as I have with Videotron) including the installation was about 540 $. This cost is for the purchase option, without signing a contract... My concerns were that it was to risky to activate the receivers with the current total confusion that exists at Bell with regards to the new packages...My choice was 30 a la carte HD + TMN + 4 HD themes, but I had some problems with Teletoon Retro English which is in Favorites on the brochure but "a la carte" on the Web page... Without this issue being clarified it didn't make any sense to activate the receivers (can not return them to the store once activated...). I have also read a lot of bad reviews with regards to the 9241 HD PVR and I don't want to take any chance with that for the moment, my current Videotron SA 8300 HD PVR works flawlessly... I also don't like the 9241 remote layout, the fact that the HD extension is connected via USB only and that the recordings have to be manually moved to the external extension...
Overall, although I will miss the tens of HD channels I would have had more with Bell, I think that the wise choice is to stay with Videotron for a while...Hopefully they will react somehow to this aggressive Bell promotion and they will add more HD content... Also the overall experience with Bell CSRs was terrifying...

Hey I just thought of something, maybe I could get "the favorites" for $5, and then add TSN for $2. I would save $8.

That would be cool. $53 for 4 channels is way too much. Not that it is a lot of money but I hate paying for something I don't want.

Hmmm, interesting.

Mysteriously: Family, Disney Playhouse and Showcase Action seem to be missing from the A LA Carte list...

I wonder if Bell will continue to apply the 40% retentions discount if you switch to A LA Carte?

Given I don't need the American networks in SD, and I probably don't watch half the channels I get in the SD theme packs, the 30 A LA Carte with the 5$ add-on for favourites (CNN, TLC etc) would give me a 15$ a month savings compared to what I pay now.

I also wonder if TSN is chosen as part of A LA CARTE if you get TSN HD as well (I had heard that Sports 1 wa required to get TSN HD).

Have to check it out with CS tomorrow...

To Julie Rose: I am counting on the fact that the 3D will be the next mania to bring DOWN the prices on the current flock of LCD's. Never, but never buy into fads. 3D will be expensive for a good time to come because it's the next plateau.

The newest Sonys or samsungs or Sharps should be down by 33% by December and we should have the pick of the best. I don't need or want 3D but i do want LED, 240Hz, internet compatibility etc (all the latest gadgets save 3D)

Aiming for a 46" around 1,000

I just called to switch.. I'm a new customer as of Jan 7th.

The CSR told me the a la carte was for new customers only and couldn't switch me.

Is she full of noodles - did I get a bad one? She sounded cranky on the phone.

thanks..
C.

To pick up a channel for $2 you must first choose at least 15 a la carte for $15, then you may pick up additional channels for $2 each.

Same with the Favourites, you must first choose a la carte package then add on "The Favourites"
