"&#-6164;a carte" packages

Thank you for your time on this - interesting that Speed still appears as an option on the program listing website but not on the drop downs on the self serve site. One would have to wonder at their thinking on not including this channel?

The prices given also reflect a $10 bundling discount and a $6 receiver rental credit for new customers. Actual prices are about $20 higher after adding the SAF and LPIF fees.

Thanks - I can see it again now too - but the Bell Rep can't; so he can't activate it. The only place it doesn't appear is on the brochure.

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

Hi Julie, according to BellTv these packages were just launched today so many of the CSRs are still learning what they include.

I can confirm that you need to have the Premium movies package to get AMC and TMC.

The movies package is 11$ when you are on the new A LA CARTE or TOP package.

I just switched over today and I have both AMC and TMC. TMC is on free preview until March so everyone should be getting it for free for another month.

Yes you could take the basic for 25$ (15$ after bundle discount) + 4 HD themes for 10$.

However, this would not get you TSN in HD, because you are required to have TSN in SD to get the HD version.

TSN HD is listed as being part of the HD Sports Theme pack, but you won't get it if you don't have TSN in SD.

Maybe someone needs to tell Bell that Rogers Ottawa has had RDS well before digital boxes came out.

That's why I said that TSN is costing me $15...If only it would be available in a smaller package, like "The Favorite", but "Top Anglo" is $20...I'd pay $5 per month for it through "pick 'n pay", but that's not gonna happening...

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

i have the movie network. but i'll probably call on the 20th for my programming changes, because it work to have the best of the best packages. i will be getting lots of channel that i do not want. i can try them for a month, if i don't like it, i will choose 30 channels that i am going to watch.

Also, if teletoon retro include the french version also or its the english one, only.

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

Teletoon Retro in French is included with the basic package.

If you want Teletoon English as well, it looks like you will have to choose it in your A LA CARTE choices or within one of the "TOP" packages.

So far the only issue I am experiencing is with WSBK.

It seems that BellTV removed WSBK from it's Movies package and moved it to Family 1 theme pack. However, BellTV forgot to move WSBK to the A LA CARTE and BEST OF THE BEST packages so Quebec customers who are no longer on the Theme Pack platform have no way to get it.

Bell has promised to get back to me in next 48 hours with an update on WSBK.

Other than this minor oversight, it seems like the new platform is working great.

I was just thinking...

Since CTV Montreal is not yet broadcasting their HD feed OTA, I am wondering if Bell could allow non-simsubbed CBS HD to everyone in Quebec that is on the new A LA CARTE platform with the revamped 'Basic'.

It would be easy for Bell to justify allowing anyone with the new 'Basic' package to enjoy CBS HD without simsub, because only residents of Quebec are allowed to purchase this new 'Basic' and CTV is not broadcasting HD OTA in Quebec yet.

Technically, if they could do this I think they would be within the 'rules'. The CRTC would have a hard time determining any solid 'history' of sim-subbing by Bell, since this new 'basic' package in Quebec is only 5 days old...

Am I reaching? :)

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

so if I change my billing address online to a Quebec address, will I be able to pick channels "a la carte"?

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

To Panache: thanks for the reply. Yes it`s a HD receiver and will only invest in a HD TV when prices are compatible with my budget and give me the most bang for the buck: LED + 240Hz + Wifi etc - will probably have to wait 8 months.

Yes -the pictures are different since as you explained because of ratio screens. However, must add that the pix is sharper on the HD channel (though a bit smaller) but the audio is much. much better.

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

1 hour later (yesterday) and they finally switched me onto a la carte packages. We went over my choices 5 times! I suggest anyone switching over, have your a la carte channels ready and in alphabetic order!! (LOL) It was painful.
Today still do not have WSBK (I ordered $5 The Favourites) WSBK shows up online on my list of channels on bell.ca but still does not show up on any of my receivers! For my troubles, they gave me HBO free for a month. ANyhow, it is still not working after a total of 2 hrs on the phone with bHell. If WSBK is not on shortly I will call back, and I susect they will offer me HBO free for a few more months.

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

Anyone else notice that we in the West pay $5 more for any plan than they do in Ontario?

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

There it goes again.... Why can't they just show the actual real prices, with all fees included!??!

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

This must be Bell's definition of "a la carte" - you have to take 30 channels and 4 theme packs.

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

This is what the customer service guy told me. Was he competent? To tell you the truth, I'm not sure.

"&#-6164;a carte" packages

how about top bilingual + movies? because all the packages are not that all clear to understand.
