also, it must say something about the musicians when they come out with 11tybillion #1's
 
Here I go again. Getting up on the soap box.
Music is not define by one Genre or one person. And, whether it is crap or the best is not determine by an award show or some self proclaimed authority on what we all should be listening too. Rap has it's place just as Metal has it's place. If you don't like it, then don't listen to it. But, don't try to dictate to us what is or is not good. And, for you who knock 50 cent, you do so because he is on top, like you did when Eminen and the late 2pac was on top. 50 cent has found a way to market his music to the mainstream listeners and buyers. He, like other artist, are in it for the money. And, if you are not in it for the money, fame and all that comes with it, then what are you in it for. If you say the music, then tell me how many times have your favorite artist gave a free concert? Or, did not try to market their music to masses by selling t-shirt and memorabilia at their concerts?

And I listen to it all. Hip Hop, jazz, classic blues, old rock of many varietys, punk, country, and of course clasical music.

If they have a record deal, then they probably don't really allow you to download their music for free. No record company I know of, is going to be happy with losing profit. And, it's great that you found a band that does care about their fans enough to do free concerts.
 
The free distribution of music comes from the band allowing people at their concerts to set up recording equipment. Then they make cd's or put the music on the internet. I know for a fact that banRAB like DMB and Grateful Dead allow this. But as I think you know any band with a record label that produces a CD for the band does not allow the free distribution of that music.

but yeah, i noticed a lot of people here listen to shitty music, but some don't.

in closing, some people have shitty tastes in music and those people should be looked down upon and shunned for insulting the real artists out there.
