She was lead for both movies I thought.

Overall, I'm surprised Revolutionary Road did so poorly, seems like they favored The Reader much more.

Anyways, most of it is not a surprise. Very happy for Heath, Kate, and Slumdog.

Kate HAS to win! It's so her year, it's not even funny.

YES! She's always way too pretty.

Also, Hugh is doing an amazing job, his opening was so perfect! Also, all the videos are great!

Loved the speach his parents gave, just perfect for the ocasion and situation. He totally deserved that award.

Musicals are back! Hell yeah, Hugh! Amanda Seyfried is so cute and talented! She could've sang more though... but Hugh and Beyonce? Perfect.

Yea Heath---RIP always such a bittersweet moment but im so glad his family was the one who excepted the award.

He def. deserved it and i know hes looking on and smiling :)

Yep Heath, Kate and Sean---those were the three i had hoped win. "Milk" was a great movie and Sean Penn did beyond amazing in it

Hugh was the best part of the show...and Ben stiller :lmao:

Kudos to Jennifer Aniston for being so cool with a certain couple not two feet away

I actually really enjoyed the awards tonight..although it could be that I could FF through some of the speeches and whatnot. But I think Hugh did a fantastic job ( I love the guy anyways  ), I think he was totally underused though

And I didnt really enjoy the Beyonce bit..well..I think that was mainly because of Zac and Vanessa though. Nothing against Hugh..he was great.

It was nice to wonder who was going to be next presenting, or which past winners would be involved in awarding the oscar to the winner. And each one presenting a nominee was nice..some of it felt honest and from the heart,some..not so much. But still, I liked the format.

I agree with the direction of that montage. Completely terrible. The swoops and pans of the cameras were totally distracting, and made it difficult to see who was in the tribute.

But I loved Queen Latifah singing. I thought that was a great idea. So basically I liked the concept but it was not executed well.... and I guess it was wrong to think people would refrain from clapping over a live performance. Oh well.

Will Smith was great..I like how they had him present those technical awards back to back to back..smart move.

Great moment to see Heath's family accept the award.

Daniel Day-Lewis where were you?:( And So disappointed that Mickey Rourke didnt win

Kate Winslet looked absolutely stunning. I love her so much, and was so happy to see her win. Loved her speech..and I'll admit that I loved that she thanked Peter Jackson..."Heavenly Creatures" was a fantastic film

"I'm sorry, Meryl, but you have to just suck that up!" Priceless.

Loved that they awards didnt go on forever and ever...just a little over 3hrs. Not bad. And some of it seemed to fly by :)

Did anyone else find it hilariously ironic that the majority of the clips of the new movies for 2009 at the credits, have absolutely zero chance of getting Oscars?

So..in summary..uhmmm...bring Jackman back

Woohoo for Kate Winslet! I love her!

I love Sean Penn but I was rooting for Mickey.

Loved Hugh's opening---was laughing the entire time. So much fun.

Jen is ALWAYS pretty :D
SJP is pretty also.

But Hugh and his opening, oh my, perfect :thud:

And if Kate doesn't get this i'm gonna be so pissed off.

Melinator, I'm glad it wasn't just me in those reguards. :)

Oh, I also loved the musical number, that was brilliant. Although, I'm not a huge Beyonce fan, and didn't really like Zac Efron/Vanessa Hudgens being part of it, overall, it was really amazing. Hugh! :thud:
