I'm disappointed Bruce Springsteen didn't get a nomination too. I thought he was going to but obviously that hasn't happened.

And you're totally right about Heath Ledger, it would not have gone well if they had left him out, but he totally deserved that nomination as he was amazing as the Joker.

Out of all the comments I made, I forget to mention how I thought Dustin Lance Black's acceptance speech was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. He was just so genuine.

Adara

I don't know. I wasn't expecting Sean to win at all so that was a surprise for me. I didn't think Penelope would either.

Kate winning was definitely one of my fave moments. :yay:  The whole presentation and then her speech were great.

The award for film editing usually goes hand in hand with the award for best picture. ;)

Yea that performance was AMAZING!!! Hugh and Beyonce are just great! and so is this awards show im sooooo glad im taping it!!!

I liked it to the moment Zac/Vanessa came on the stage. I'm not a biggest fan of HSM. :look:

Best people on stage to present Best Actress and Actor. Seriously.

No surprise with Slumdog anymore... but YAAAAAY for Steven Spielberg being there!! Totally love him.

Congrats to Kate and to Heath's family.

I was hoping that Mickey would have won for actor.

This was the best Oscar's I think and I really liked how the actors and actresses who have won in the past nominated each person. I also liked the videos of the 2008 movies. Daniel Craig and Robert Downey Jr. looked so handsome.

13 nominations for Benjamin Button? seriously? I mean that places the movie amongst the highest ever oscar nominations recieved and it just was not that good :pout: and it even got nominated for editing?

I havent seen much of the other nominess but very glad Heath got nominated, hoping he wins :)

The musical number and the presentation for Best Actress were my favourite moments

I also loved the changes they did... it's a pretigious show and it should be lead in a certain way, but changes are good when you know what you're doing, which I think they did pretty well. Loved Hugh's presenting :D

What I said about being boring was the fact that it had no surprises really. Slumdog was the favorite and we all were waiting for Benjamin Button, which is an amazing film really, to be the biggest loser of the night with 13 noms and getting what? Two, three?
Kate and Sean weren't a done deal, but you had a pretty confident guess they would take their awards home, and well deserved.

And I still think Marisa Tomei or Amy Adams deserved more that award for Supporting Actress than Penelope Cruz. But that's just me.

When Heath won and when Kate won as well  I'm such a big fan of her and it was amazing to see Halle Barry, Nicole Kidmam, Sophia Loren and Marion Cotiliard giving her the award. Amazing moment.

I think everyone knows my opinion on Rachel Getting Married....so i won't say anything bad right now.

If anyone could have beaten Kate it would have been Meryl. She was crazy good in Doubt. I still check out clips from youtube (Doubt-Confrontation is my favorite).

My favorite Artist singer Bruce Springsteen didn't get the nod for best Orginal Score for the Wrestler  Happy to see the Wrestler got 3 nominations !

Heath Ledger, I think if he didn't get nominated there would have been a huge uproar

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button i count 9 nominations . Excellent movie saw it last weekend well worth the 2hr 25 min .

Sad to see Grand Torino, another very well done movie, didn't get any nominations.

I disagree on supporting actor Josh Brolin in Milk , i personaly thought Emile Hersh had a larger supporting role and did a bang up job. Hell he was in PG movie Speed racer, this role he played Harvey Milk gay lover !

We will see come oscar night

I'm surprised Leo wasn't nominated. Very strange.

I am so pleased Kate got her nomination. And it's good to see Heath Ledger got a nomination for The Dark Knight, which was expected. I hope both of those win in their category

This musical number is spectacular :thud: When Baz is involved, didn't expect anything less.

I agree, she blew me away in that film. I've seen both her's and Winslet's performance's and even though Kate was brilliant in "The Reader," I think it should have gone to Anne. But Kate has deserved the Oscar so many times before that she was due to win one and I'm thrilled that she finally did.

i think james saying the title and seth laughing at how he pronounce it was HILARIOUSSSSSS watched it about 5 times

Hugh was great. Dude had so much charm that he was able to make the show a bit more interesting. :D

I adored Heath's and Kate's wins. Heath's was just sad, but it was great that the camera panned around to all the other actors in the audience. We saw Kate and Angelina crying. Brad was tearing up. Chris Nolan looked a bit numb, but I suppose that's because he's used to it. And Kate's speech was adorable; you can really tell that she was truly grateful. Also adored her calling out for her dad in the audience. :)

I guess I'm in the minority then because I didn't care for the five-presenters thing. Sure, it gave the spotlight to the nominees, and most of them looked genuinely touched/honored, but it was just slow and dragged on for more than I cared for. And honestly, I'm not even sure if the past winners even watched the movies of the nominees, because the speeches were so generic and summary-like. Seemed more like someone with the Oscars wrote that stuff and put it on the teleprompter, and it was up to the previous winners to be literate. :look:
