Yea shes my fav actress hands down. So humble, so great, 20 years from now she will be a legend I know....will be mentioned as Meryl is now once we get old and gray

I felt kinda bad for her. She seemed rather uncomfortable up there, probably because she got a clear view of Brangelina from her position. And then of course the camera cut to Brangelina a couple of times during the thing.

I enjoyed Natalie Portman and Ben Stiller's presentation the most. Natalie is just drop-dead gorgeous, and Ben as Joaquin Phoenix was hilarious. :D

Oh me too. I keep on waiting for something to make me go "OMG WOW!" but it hardly happens.

But being the film geek that I am, what can you do right? :P

Hell yes! Jen Aniston is just way too awesome. SRSLY. Plus, she looked stunning!

OMG, is it possible to love Kate Winslet any more??? She's perfect and gorgeous and so nice, a fantastic performer and a great artist. :yay:

Kate needs to win. :thud:

Actor: I want either Sean or Frank to get the Oscar.

Please Newman win! :D

Yea im pretty much assumed tonite would be Slumdog's night....theyve won everything else anyway

I've seen a lot of them, I'm proud to say!

Seeing The Wrestler, Rachel Getting Married and Frost Nixon this weekend.

I'm hearing Bruce actually took himself out of the running for an Oscar Nomination because he decided to put the song on his own cd--which is against Academy rules.

Heath is a lock to win.

Well to be honest there were about 3 lovers  But I do agree with the nomination of Brolin. In the end though I don't think the movie will get much if any awards.

are you kidding? I thought he was hysterical in that role!

Yeah, I figured Mickey Rourke had it in the bag. So I was surprised when Sean Penn won, glad, but surprised.

I wonder if they'll continue with the new presentation of the award itself, 'cause that was actually a really nice change. I'm all for something like the Academy Awards keeping its authenticity, but that kinda takes it a step further, since it's bringing together various past winners. It makes for a nice tribute to them and the future winner, imo.

Out of all these nominated movies for all these categories, I think I have only seen 3.

Oscars is the most predictable award show but I end up watching it every year. :lmao:

Bit of a surprise with the noms

Surprised that 'Revolutionary Road' was so overlooked, though Kate and Leo would be a shoe-in for best actor and actress and also Sam for Best director, very strange

I've never even heard of a couple of the movies that have got noms, 'Frozen River' for example..

Glad that Frost/Nixon got some noms, but was hoping for Michael Sheen to get a nom. Glad that 'Milk' got some noms, that is an amazing film :D

Glad that Heath got a nom for TDK, and surprised with the nom for RDJ for 'Tropic Thunder'

^I know... before I thought it would just take best picture and be done with it, but now I'm seriously thinking Danny Boyle will take best director as well.

The Academy has given both awards -which also go hand in hand - to different movies from time to time and I was thinking tonight would be the same, but I guess I was wrong.
