I will admit, I teared up quite a bit, actually. I'm still so upset over the whole Prop 8 thing. But I loved how he was so optimistic about change happening, someday. He seems so friggin' sweet!

I havent seen any of the movies safe Wall-E but the cathegory that surprised me the most was songs. there really were only 3 good songs last year? and do they only nominate songs written strictly for a movie? Im not sure about this one

Im sad about Leo but they never seem to give him the award anyway so I dont even bother to get angry anymore. I think Mickey will win this cathegory. and Im rooting for Slumdog although i havent seen it yet.

I have a feeling that this year almost anyone could win in most of the cathegories but that may be just because I havent seen the movies. some years its pretty sure who will get the golden boy. this not so much

They gave it to Heath! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! He SO deserved it.

And finally... KATE WON!!!! OMG, there's justice in the world after all. :D

I'm so happy for Sean Penn, Heath Ledger, Kate Winslet, and Slumdog Millionaire's Oscar wins! :woot:

And I loved seeing Marion Cotillard there again, which I knew she would be, but still.

I think that Kate is going to get screwed at the Oscars. Her role in The Reader is supporting and she was nominated in the Lead Category instead or her work for Revolutionary Road. She lost in the lead category at both the SAG and Critic's choice awards to Meryl Streep... I smell BS coming from the Oscars :irked:

Rachel Getting Married's really the only one I have yet to see; it wasn't ever playing near me, and it won't release on DVD until March, so I'll have to wait until after the Oscars. I'm hoping that the winners are: Slumdog Millionaire for Best Picture, Sean Penn for Best Actor, Kate Winslet for Best Actress, Heath Ledger for Best Supporting Actor, Amy Adams for Doubt...

Kate for the freaking win!!

"I'm sorry Meryl, but you'll just have to suck that up." :lmao: She's too awesome!

Oh I wanted Newman or Elfman to win...

Now Newman has to win! Probably won't. :pout:

I agree. My friends and I were near tears. Especially because of what happened with Prop 8 here so his speech was such an inspiration

I am a bit surprised

Leo wasn't nominated? That angers me greatly.

And I am sooo happy Kate was nominated, but I thought she would be for RR too - seeing as she won the GG. I hope she wins, more than anyone else tonight - she deserves it.

I am very, very happy about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - one of my favorite films of the year.

Yeah I know and I always wait for the speeches and OMG moments.

I'm more of a fan of Cannes or Berlinale. :look:
