700rms bandpass box vs 1100rms ported box?

is it possable for 2 12" subs with 700rms in a bandpass box to doom harder than a single 12 sub in a ported box tuned at 28hz pushing out 1100rms?

i was wonering cuz i really want to get that bandpass box but i also want to be able to beat my friend who has a mtx9500
 
I've always though badpass boxes sounded better anyway. so yeah I think its possible
