I love her haircut in this movie! Next time I go to the salon, I'm totally getting it done!

Yeah, I'm serious. I think this was a pretty different kind of romantic comedy. It is far from an anti-romantic-comedy, but it's pretty different from the hundreds of romantic comedy that Hollywood produces every year. Not just the end, but the way the story is told is unusual.
The story is quite fun and very easily to identify with, the acting is far from brilliant, but it's very natural and I think that was enough, and the directing, in my opinion, is no more than ordinary. And yet, I liked the film.

I loved that scene! It was awesome. It was really sad, I totally agree. But totally relatable. I can think of so many times where I go somewhere expecting something and getting a completely different thing :(

I have a total girl!crush on Zooey Deschanel  those eyes :thud:
And Joseph is just adorable  The dance sequence was hilarious :lmao: people in my theatre were completely cracking up.

It has an amazing soundtrack

The movie is adorable and bitter at the same time. I liked the ending, I think it was realistic that they didn't end up together. It won't always work out, that's how it is and Tom was blinded by his feelings, he didn't see the bad things, he only saw positives, even in negative situations.

I loved their scenes at Ikea. :lmao:

And Joseph of course.

I loved Summer as well.

I love this movie! It's very bittersweet though. But unlike you guys I loved Summer! It's probably because I love Zooey Deschanel so much.

And the soundtrack is LOVE.

I loved how the story was told, too. It kept my interest. It went along with the ups and downs that occur in a relationship. You have bad days, and you have good days.

I loved it when they did the 'expectations' and 'reality' split screens. That was really neat. It was a heartbreaking scene though. :( The split screens made it hit your heart even more.

Joseph and Zooey were so awesome! Yeah, their clothes were great! It helped with their overall cuteness. I loved Joseph. He expressed so many emotions and did a good job of it, too. It seemed believable. God, I cannot get over the looks he gives Summer in the movie. He looked so adoring.

I loved the soundtrack, and I would love to have it! :D

So I've had this movie sitting on my DVR for weeks. I need to find a 'moment' to see it. I've been waiting a while to see it and I want to have the time to enjoy it.

David - Are you serious? This was far from the atypical romantic comedy. A less glorified version of love, showing the reality of the strain of a relationship. I particularly enjoyed how the favorite things he loved about Summer he was able to turn around and point out as flaws. It was just a solid script, finely acted, and the director aced this project.

Oh, ok, can't remember, I really have to watch this movie again
I think I didn't focus on the ring at this moment, but the movie was all like going foward then in the past so it was quite hard to know

But I kinda knew from the beginning they wouldn't end up together anyway :)

Just bought the movie before Xmas. Plan on watching again this weekend with some choice others.

I saw this film the other day at a free preview screening. It was amazing. Best film of the year for me. I love the non linear timeline as it jumped back and forth, and the way we could tell the mood of the day depending on the colouring/artwork of the numbered section. JGL and Zooey were fantastic, you could really feel their characters and what they were like. Zooey's character could so easily have been seen as cold but the way she played it you could tell Summer hadn't meant to hurt him at all. And I love how it deviated from the norm of Hollywood that if you like the same music/etc then clearly you are destined for each other, it was a far more realistic and heartwarming take on love. I'll definitely see it again when it officially comes out.

The music was amazing, I need to go out and buy the soundtrack. :D
I loved the clothes too.

Now that I thought about it I think it's impossible that she was engaged from the beginning as at the end she says [sp]She found true love etc... [/sp] :goof: So how could anyone see the ring at the beginning? Or maybe in the CDs shop?:look:

So, I watched this movie this week and I liked it. But what I liked the most about it is that it made me think whether it is an anti-romantic-comedy or just an indie romantic-comedy that tries to stay away from stereotypes, like Juno and other nice films like that. I read a pretty good review that said that (500) Days of Summer was an anti-romantic-comedy and I immediately disagreed. But when I gave it some more thought, I started to actually consider the possibility of it being an anti-romantic-comedy. The thing is, that this film made me think, and that is enough for me to consider it a good film. Also, I like how the main characters are two non-stereotyped indie kids and how the plot and the great soundtrack have lots of influence from indie music.

What a wonderful movie!! Love it sooo much! I'm not the one who's watching romantic movies but this one was simply sweet!
