And is it just me or do i detect a slight hint of piss taking in your choice of worRAB

Badmotorfinger is a bit more raw sounding, and has the more ridiculous screams and such. I dunno, I'd say Superunknown is easier to get into.

The Doors are awful and so are all of you. Give him accessible stuff that will show him genres, not Queens of the fuc‎king Stone Age.

In the Court of the Crimson King
This will teach OP if he likes prog (just ignore the 9 minutes of wankery on "Moonchild").

soundgarden- superunknown

system of a down - system of a down

I'd be a little more updated, I guess, so I'll just say that most System Of A Down fans I know are also fans of Tool, and I think they'd be worth looking into.

I'm in love with your tastes!

Most of these albums are either favorites of mine, recently put into my library, or something I need to check out!

If you love Led Zep you may want to explore their main rivals back in the day such as Black Sabbath and Deep Purple also other groups such as Hurable Pie and Free. All these groups are English banRAB and if you want an American perspective on things try stuff by the James Gang, Blue Oyster Cult and Mountain.

All this would give you a great grounding in blues rock/hard rock and early heavy metal. Its classic era in rock.

Here's a few more ya (as if we didn't already give you enough):

These are albums I consider to be "essential":
Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way
Machine Head - Deep Purple
In Rock - Deep Purple
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
The Eagles - Hotel California

These are others I like that you might like as well (some on the heavier side):
Lordi - The Arockalypse
Hatebreed - S/T
Hellyeah - Stampede
Megadeth - Countdown To Extinction
Static-X - Cannibal
Otep - The Ascension

Jimi Hendrix - The Ultimate Experience
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Nirvana - Nevermind

Yes, all commercially successful, but also reminiscent of other times when the mainstream wasn't so overcome with tunnel-vision for mindless dreck.
