WORST FREAKIN OSCARS EVER!!!!

All those damm technical awards and costume design, camara work and all that crap drug the show out:rolleyes:

Mark should have won but as long as Eddie didn't will I'm happy.'

But still though all those catagories were very boring:rolleyes:

I agree, Forest's sppech was great. He and Jennifer's were my favorites............they were both genuine and sincere and made me cry. I loved that Ryan and Leo gave Forest standing O's. They are such classy guys and this is just one of the many reasons I love them both.

Sometimes with actors like Morgan Freeman and Sean Penn, maybe the voters are taking into account more than the nominated performance. But in this case I believe they will only vote considering Blood Diamond. I will try to see the movie this week, but from I've been told Leo's performance in "The Departed" was more deserving. Maybe it won't matter as the amazing Forest Whitaker might end up neutralizing Leo's bid.

To this day I say that Leo should've won for "The Aviator". That was his year.

Ditto on Mark Walhberg! I really want him to win. But I also love Djimon Hounsou. Also, some people are saying that Eddie Murphy is going to take it hands down. This category is more exciting than the one for Best Actor.

I think Meryl Streep was nominated for Best Actress because she truly dominated that movie. Her performance took that so so film and made it great. She didn't miss a beat and in no way, shape or form she crossed the line into cheesy or over the top.

The scene that convinces me that it was an Oscar worthy performance was when she gave the monologue about why fashion is important and how it shapes our lives. That scene could've been stupid, but she made believable and you could see why Andrea would start changing her mind after that.

Still, Helen Mirren will more than likely walk out with the naked man.

So I finally saw The Last King of Scotland and I now see all the hype about Forest... But I must say I think he's nominated in the wrong category. I really think it was a supporting role and not a lead.

I've been saying since opening weekend of The Departed that Martin was going to win. There is no doubt in my mind that it's Martin's year :) All I'm saying was that I didn't understand why Greengrass was nominated but after seeing the movie I know now. A great piece of directing

That makes me sad. He shouldn't have left, just 'cause he lost? What if Scorsese had left everytime he lost? So childish of him.

I first read it on Perez Hilton but they mentionned it on Access Hollywood so he really left.

Debated on opening a new thread for this but decided against it...

If you were to win an Oscar, which category would it be in and what would you say in your acceptance speech? Also, would it take you ages to get to the stage? would you trip going up the stairs? Would you comment on how heavy the award is? Would you tell the conductor to stop trying to play you off?

Everyone always pretends a moment like that---so how would your fantasy go?

I just saw Children of Men yesterday and I hope it wins cinematography! It was 2 or more moving masters in it which is rediculous! There is a 9 minute shot in the film that is effin' crazy! All the other films pale in comparission to it!

I also saw Dream Girls yesterday and I thought it was aweful. So happy it wasn't nominated for Best Picture. Little Miss Sunshine lost to this piece of crap? I don't even think that Eddie Murphy deserves a nomination.

:yay: For Ryan Gosling and Mark Walhberg! When I saw The Departed I turned to my boyfriend and said that Mark was going to be nominated for an Oscar. Neither he nor anyone else believed me... IN YOUR FACE! ::lol:

I liked these two as well! I was happy to see how proud Jada seemed of hr son!

I liked John Stewart last year, its impossible to separate cinema from politics, a lot of the movies nominated have political subjects so its only normal to crack a few political jokes, especially since there are many thinks to joke about, I found him funny last year and I love his show, though Ellen was different and funnier in a less political way!

Do last years best actor and actress always give out the awards for best actor and actress?

Did you all miss Goerge Clooney talking before giving the best supproting actress award or was that just the channel Iwas watching from? cause the broadcast stopped at that point!

In the best picture category I'm happy for Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed!! My two favorite movies from last year. I haven't seen the other three yet. A little shocked that Dreamgirls didn't make best picture, but not too disappointing for me, I liked it but besides Eddie and Jennifer there were nothing else that really stood out for me.

In the lead actor and actress category, I'm thirlled for Meryl Streep who was awesome in The Devil Wears Prada but I haven't seen any of the other people in the category yet, but I'm happy for Ryan Gosling, I plan to see Half Nelson once it comes out on DVD. I wish Leo got nominated for The Departed though, he was amazing in that.

In the supporting, I first thrilled for Jennifer and Eddie from Dreamgirls, and Alan Arkin and Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine. I was kinda of hoping Emily Blunt snuck in into the supporting actress category but I didn't think she would.

Overall, I'm happy with the nominees, but I still have a ton of movies to see.

Can we pitch a buddy comedy with Abigail Breslin and Jaden Christopher Smith? They can be junior detectives or something. I loved how Abigail was trying to reign him back when Jaden was jumping lines and moving on to the next award before they even announced the winner for the first one.

I maybe alone on this, not sure if I've said it before: it wasn't a bad movie, but I'm not sure I understand all this hoopla for Little Miss Sunshine. And Meryl Streep gets nominated because she's, well, Meryl Streep. Was Devil Wears Prada really Oscar-worthy?

IMO, Damon was as good, if not better, than DiCaprio. I'm hoping Scorsese finally wins... and The Departed wins Best Picture. Of course, Eastwood will most likely win it because the Academy seemingly gives him awards even if Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby weren't that good.

Don't get me started on Crash. That was the BEST movie that year. Please, BBM:rolleyes:

Crash was so emotional it deserved it's win.

I think Jennifer Hudson did much more than just sing. Her acting in DG was top notch considering it was her first movie.

I highly doubt they'll give it to that little girl. They have in the past but that was years, years ago when Anna Paquin won.

I'd rather JH not win because it would ruin her career getting a top award so early.

I think Mark Walhburg should win because he's a better actor

I just read that after losing Eddie left quickly the Kodak Theater ... I knew he was gone because I didn't see him when J.Hud won.
