Okay here are my picks at the moment... Bold is who I think is going to win and italicized are the ones I want to win.
Best Picture: "Babel,"
"The Departed," "Letters From Iwo Jima," "
Little Miss Sunshine," "The Queen."
Loathed the Queen and I didn't like Babel. Haven't seen Iwo Jima but I'm tired of Clint Eastwood
Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio, "Blood Diamond";
Ryan Gosling, "Half Nelson"; Peter O'Toole, "Venus"; Will Smith, "The Pursuit of Happyness";
Forest Whitaker, "The Last King of Scotland."
I would say Leo but he was nominated for the wrong film. I think they intentionally screwed him over.
Actress: Penelope Cruz, "Volver";
Judi Dench, "Notes on a Scandal"; Helen Mirren, "The Queen"; Meryl Streep, "The Devil Wears Prada"; Kate Winslet, "Little Children."
Judi Dench was by far better than Helen Mirren. I haven't seen "Little Children" yet so I can't judge Kate but she should have won a long time ago.
Supporting Actor: Alan Arkin, "Little Miss Sunshine"; Jackie Earle Haley, "Little Children"; Djimon Hounsou, "Blood Diamond";
Eddie Murphy, "Dreamgirls"; Mark Wahlberg, "The Departed."
I hated Dreamgirls and I don't think that Eddie deserves an Oscar for it. When I walked out of the Departed it's opening weekend I turned to my boyfriend and told him that Mark Wahlberg was going to get an Oscar nomination and he didn't believe me... No one did... What now bitch?! :lol:
Supporting Actress: Adriana Barraza, "Babel"; Cate Blanchett, "Notes on a Scandal";
Abigail Breslin, "Little Miss Sunshine";
Jennifer Hudson, "Dreamgirls"; Rinko Kikuchi, "Babel."
Again I hated Dreamgirls and Jennifer Hudson shouldn't win. Everyone in this category was better than she was. I know it's a longshot but I would love it if little Abby won
Directing: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, "Babel";
Martin Scorsese, "The Departed"; Clint Eastwood, "Letters From Iwo Jima"; Stephen Frears, "The Queen"; Paul Greengrass, "United 93."
I can feel it! He needs to win! I'm sorry but Babel over The Departed? I can except it from the foriegn press but not from the Academy. Give it to Martin! He's the Susan Lucci of the Oscars!
