There is a very good deal on a 2003 Kawasaki Z1000 with low KM's. The only problem is that I have never owned, or really ridden a motorcycle. I will be taking a training course, but what I need to know is: Is a 1000 too big for a first bike, even though it is a streetfighter sit-up style?

It's a sharp bike with lots of power as most 1000's have.
I have been on bike for 25 years and the standard answer would be to start off on a smaller sized bike to get a feel for a motorcycle and it's unique dynamics.

However, if you can appreciate that a bit of stupidity on your part and a total disrespect for the machine can have you in a really bad spot then go ahead and buy it.

Look, be smart and take it easy. That machine will accelerate like nothing else you have been on in your life and this is where things go bad as newer riders typically lose focus etc. on their surroundingswere my brother I'd suggest something a bit smaller as you can always trade up and we'll always have a few left over Z1000's to buy later on if we wish.
