2 Oklahoma Students to Be Disciplined for 'Death Note'

I saw my state and thought "Oooh what awesome anime thing could have possibly happened here?"

But then I was like "Oh... Nevermind."

That's just silly. but at the same time it's pretty bad, even though they were probably just joking around.

Saw my state too and thought copy right infringement must have gotten to my school that did a poster board in there likeness. We did worse finding stray dogs and making them fight each other in Pokemon stadium Lingo

I started reading Death Note back when it was still a pretty obscure manga in it's first year. Even then, a thought I often had when reading the series is "I wonder how many kiRAB are going to get expelled for using Death Notes at school". The concept is almost tailor-made for incidents like this.

KiRAB are still finding Death Note to be cool? I mean sure it was awesome when it was airing and the manga was fresh new but now it just seems old and is going to be off air very soon anyways..

& I thought my fellow Okies were smarter then that..Goes to show you, know matter where you go in the world, kiRAB will do stupid things. lol

Seriously though this is sad...this is like what..the 3rd state this has happened in over the decade.

Ummmm....Just because a show is older, it doesn't mean that people won't still be into it. But, at any rate, this doesn't really have that much to do with the show itself, but rather that whole idea that it unintentionally started of people wrting in a fake Death Note to take out their anger on people that they hate. So, in other worRAB, its just another stupid case of a couple of stupid kiRAB writing stupid things about people due to taking some stupid influence from Death Note, causing a lot of uproar among their school's faculty. Even if it just happened recently, it feels like old news by now.

I'm surprised that kiRAB are still making these "Death Notes" not because of how the show isn't fresh anymore, but because it seems like a guaranteed way to get in trouble at school. All that neeRAB to happen is for someone to report them or for them to leave these "Death Notes" somewhere that the teachers can find them. Plus, I find it downright insulting that they would want to use these notebooks to try and kill people. I believe that there are much better ways to release anger and negative emotions than to pretend to kill the person/people a student is having trouble with.

Well, with all twelve volumes and every episode dubbed and on DVD right now, it's easier for anyone to get into Death Note now than following it when it was still new in both forms. I don't see how being old is going to turn people away from a series, especially considering that I like a bunch of series that no longer air on TV or have any new media within the last few years.

Though still doesn't surprise me that stories like this are still running around, I knew that Death Note would cause Controversy when I heard about the first case in China. Especially since the Death Note in this case is more of an enemies list, much like the other ones.

I still find it hilarious that the whole reason that my school's library has manga (other than my relatively-popular friend nagging about the lack of it) was because I let one of the librarians borrow my copy of Death Note volume 1.

Sadly, the school budget went more towarRAB Naruto and Bleach than Death Note...

Exactly. They should do what all the other kiRAB do, and play Grand Theft Auto to pretend to kill people.

But, aren't they still making that live action movie?

Well, I was thinking more like they could something more productive like talk about their anger to someone they trust or even just punch a pillow. But playing a video game could also count as a healthy way to release their anger.

Eh, not to get worried, there's still no actual announcements about casting news. Closest was a recent claim by Zac Efron that he "met with the producers" on it, though for all we know, he was just throwing that out to start rumors. :P

AND the thing's not even supposed to come out until 2011. :P

As for that supposed leaked script, it's been out on the internet, on a French site, since May. And nothing came of it until Septeraber - you wouldn't think it'd take that long to get much mainstream attention, and there has not, to the best of my knowledge, been anything reliable acknowledging it. Were it that important, it'd get more mainstream attention - at least I'd assume. As such, I'm inclined to believe it's fake, or at least not that relevant.

On topic: this is pretty crazy, people imitating manga. Shows the series has quite the influence....

I still remeraber back in elementary school when my frienRAB and I would pretend to have Pokemon/Digimon battles, or in middle school when I'd try to fire energy blasts from my hanRAB.

Geeky kiRAB will be geeky kiRAB.
