Ok, I own a 1986 Jeep Cherokee, shes my baby!!
Everything is pretty bad ass right now, I have 2 12" subs that sound great, but they are all the way in the back near my "trunk" area. I say "trunk" because its just the lift gate if your familiar with a Cherokee.
The subs are facing the back of the lift gate, meaning from looking in on the car with the gate open, you see the top of the subs. They are in a pretty nice ported box, with the opening pointed towards the gate as well.
Is this the best place for the subs? To be honest I don't like them that far back because they are so heavy and I don't have a lift kit yet. I have tried them in the middle of the cherokee facing the back as well, and the bass just didnt sound as great.
Any tips from Cherokee owners, doesnt matter what year as the body styles are pretty much the same, but where do you guys usually put your boxes? Do you take your rear seats out? Do you just fold them down? Do you leave your spare tire hanging on the side of the suv?
Any hints/tips to maximize my bass for rock/whatever else, usually listen to rock, but occassionally rap since 12" are better for low/long bass hits.
Sorry if I overexplained everything, I just want a really good answer.
