I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina and I would like to do some work on the audio system. I have no clue where to start. I would like to take it one step at a time and replace the speakers first and maybe the deck, and later down the road put some subs in. Do i need a amp to replace the speakers? Do i need to get a new deck at the same time? What size do i need to have the speakers be for the front and back speakers? Any help is appreciated.

No you dont need an amp to replace your speakers although you can add one. Just pop out the old ones and connect the new. No you dont need to get a new deck, but if you want to add subs in later on, its recommended you get an aftermarker deck with RCA preouts to connect an amp to power the subs. Go on crutchfield and type your car in. It will tell you the size of speakers that fit in your car.
