The serial number wasn't in the glove box or ashtray. I need to remove the stereo to get it (I bought this car used and never got the original serial # card.) Can anyone give me clear iidiot-proof instructions on how to remove the stereo?

1) if automatic, set parking brake , put car in drive 3, pry the "square - shaped" trim piece from around the base of the shift lever
2) remove 2 screws located in the open compartment under the radio (for sunglass storage etc.....)
3) start prying the center "wood" trim piece up from the console and dash panel (there are several - probably 8 or so metal clips ) that hold this piece on - make sure that you locate them now before you forget - they sometimes pop off of the trim piece
4) when pulling the trim piece away from the dash unhook the electrical connection from the cigarette lighter
5) now - if memory serves me correctly - there are 4 screws that are right on the front panel that - once removed - will set the radio free, don't forget to undo the antenna and electrical connection to radio

The whole process will take about 10 or 15 minutes - take your time - its really very simple!!!
Happy Motoring!!!
