12" Alpine X Type and Rockford Fosgate T1500-BD?

Ok, so I am trying to bring down the power consumption in my system, so I have decided to get a not so strong sub, (currently have an Orion HCCA, eats a lot of power)... I am thinking about going with an Alpine X type, and want to know what way you think I should run it on my fosgate amp. I could either buy a dual 4 ohm and run it at 2 ohms, which will be around 1200 watts, (a lil high for the X type), or I could get a dual 2 ohm and run it at 4 ohms, which will be around 750 watts, (will under power it, but may really save me some power)... What do you think? Or is there another sub that would work better? I do want 2 T1's, but they want almost $400, way too much...

If you underpower the Type-X then it will sound like crap. Run it at 2 ohms and just turn down your amp a little bit. Once the speaker has been broke in then you can turn it up. 1200 watts should be fine with a Type X if it's in a proper enclosure.
