Very true. It's always the same whenever the public vote for their lists of "greatest"..whether it's sporting heroes, actors, comedians or anything else.
I can see the problem though, looking at the brief the clips, the acts I wanted to continue to watch were mainly the more recent comedians. I suppose that's because trends in comedy change.
I wouldn't argue with Billy Connolly at number 1. The list is about greatest ever, I wouldn't go far out of my way to catch Billy these days, but at his peak he was unsurpassable. On the other hand, I never caught Bill Hicks in his prime. I must look around for some of his material, it must have been almost life-changing to hear his take on the world..there aren't many around today you could say that about.
