100 Greatest Stand-Ups 2010 (Next Friday)

I hope Lee Mack comes in higher this time.

Recently I have seen live, Michael McIntyre, Russell Howard, Frankie Boyle, Stephen K Amos and Rhod Gilbert.

Out of who I have seen recently Lee Mack made me laugh the hardest, he was brilliant. I wasn't that big a fan of his before so I was pleasantly surprised. Out of the above I have seen live Rhod Gilbert was also excellent.

But for me Bily Connolly will always be my no 1 comedian, hope he holds onto his number 1 spot, he deserves it IMO.

I hope Daniel Kitson has climbed up the list. 27 wasnt bad for a stand up that never does TV work. But not a high enough placing when you consider he is imo by far the best stand up in the country.

:)

Actually she wasn't- she commented on his youthful appearance then complimented him on his comedy genius. If you can't post and follow the programme then don't :p

I like Russell, very funny live

..What an utter tragedy that the long-winded, stumbling idiot that is Billy Connolly was Number.1, a man who takes a century to deliver a punchline which had lost it's point halfway through his mind-numbing tangents.

Given how many people hate him, this is a good result for Russell, not quite what I was hoping for, but I take it.

Lee Mack is very good, shouldn't be this high though imo.

I have to admit after I saw Kielty and a couple others I did suspect it was a joke...

but the appearance of Russell Howard just confirms this, if Russell Howard can be a comedian then pretty much anybody with a facial expression as a result of sticking a wet finger in a socket can.

Much as I like TV Burp, I miss Harry Hill's old Channel Four shows and standup, hope he does some more standup soon.

My top five would probably be something like:

Stewart Lee
Bill Hicks
Dylan Moran
Bill Bailey
Richard Herring

Sounds like Andrew Dice Clay off the top of my head.
Lots of 'badda bing!' and the like.
IIRC he was big for a while in the states, 'shock comedian' I suppose, but he had no chops outside of that shock stuff.
Can't catch a cold now.

I'm worried Frankie Boyle is becoming lazy after the latest story about him, don't want him to turn into a modern day version of Manning, he was great on MTW though.

Nice to see Ed Byrne move up a lot of places, at least the second best Irish comedian alongside dara o'briain, tommy tiernan will likely be higher then Ed though.

I watch Eddie Murphy Raw a while ago and wasn't impress he came across as homophobic and just not funny.

Lenny Henry was awful when he started out but then about twenty years ago he did some of the funniest stand-up I have heard. His story about buying cannabis in Jamaica when holidaying with a friend is hilarious. No matter what people feel about his start in comedy or his awfulness in Tiswas Lenny can be very funny :)

I knew he would win again; but for some reason the demon of optimism hoped I was wrong...

...I find it unbelievable that people think this is the funniest man alive :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

:D
