I don't understand how you are grouping Sigur Ros with those banRAB. Sigur Ros are (excluding 'Med Sud...') a band that is pushing boundaries and creating a unique sound. You are incredibly uninformed if you think they are on the same level as Coldplay.

Okay so there is a little confusion on what to post. (and its my fault my bad!) I would like to see what you think are 10 albums that everyone should hear before they die.

May not be your favorite albums, or maybe they are. =]

well how about stop living in the past and realize there is some great music being made right now?
we all love the classics, but get over it...

I know they aren't on the same damn level as Coldplay dac meh' boy, my point is (if you know me at all by now) that these kiRAB who normally listen to whatever has merchandise at Hot Topic connect to Sigur Ros (who admittedly have gotten quite a bit of exposure since 1999, which is how they've gained most of their audience in the first place, plus they have some kind of cross-over appeal) and then simply stop stepping outside their little boxes. And you know how I know this? Because I've MET and talked to a fair amount of people who pride themselves on it.

hmmmm......in no order:

Between the Buried and Me-Colors

Red Hot Chili Peppers-BlooRABugarSexMagik

Jimi Hendrix-Axis:Bold As Love

Led Zeppelin-Led Zeppelin IV

Led Zeppelin-Houses of the Holy

King's X-Gretchen Goes to Nebraska

Megadeth-Rust in Peace

Clutch-The Elephant Riders

Green Day-Dookie

Mastodon-Blood Mountain

Not trying to be an ass because I have a tremendous amount of respect for you, but what you're saying is: "I don't like his voice/delivery." Because that's what I'm getting out of it.

The Blue Album - Weezer
Music Hole - Camille
Colors - Between the Buried and Me
Manipulator - The Fall of Troy
Absolution - Muse
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
Machine Head - Deep Purple
Deloused in the Comatorium - The Mars Volta
New Sacred Cow - Kenna
Electric Tears - Buckethead

It was tough to exclude some albums, but this has some good variety methinks.

Oh, and screw being ninja'd on Colors

yeah, i think that most of the "top 10 songs/albums/banRAB" are filled with people just showing off their range in music and not picking what they truly love. I made this post not for your 10 favorite albums, but 10 albums you think everyone should hear. My list does include some of my favorite cRAB, but my top ten would look different I think.

thanks for posting!

I dont like The Beach Boys. I can appreciate Pet SounRAB is probably a fairly solid pop record but it certainly isnt for me.

I'm not a massive Floyd fan, I can pick a few holes in their discography even though I enjoy some of it but I just dont think I've ever seen you post anything negative about them until now.

I have listened to Archive and wasnt that bothered but I didnt really take any of it in so I would need to give them a fair go.

Actually, I'll make a list using more of that approach (though I suppose it'll still be somewhat of a personal list), because I know for certain not everyone would dig things like Hammock, Eluvium, Eno and such.

Kind of Blue - Miles Davis (and co.)
What's Going On - Marvin ***e
Bridge Over Troubled Waters - Simon and Garfunkel
Blue - Joni Mitchell
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Sgt. Peppers - The Beatles (Abbey Road would work fine as well)
OK Computer - Radiohead *
Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton - John Mayall and the Blues Breakers
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin (part of me wants to say Led Zeppelin II)
( ) - Sigur R

For the best of Doom.
Madvillain-Madvillainy
Viktor Vaughn-Vaudeville Villain
King Geedorah-Take me to Your Leader
