    2007 Academy Awards Discussion

You're probably right, Jacob. Although I think Leo's performance was stronger and more prominent in Blood Diamond, The Departed was a stronger movie and would have helped Leo along. Well, maybe some day... Freddie, Ellen with Marty and Clint was so funny.

    Movie Sequels

I agree with ~Holly~, Spiderman II was better than the original so there's at least one sequel that wasn't crappy. :D

    Favorite modern day Shakespeare movie

I also loved Baz Luhrmann's Romeo+Juliet and I agree, it was the right decision to keep the original language, it made the movie much more interesting and special with the modern setting. I think it worked well. Hmm, what else modern day Shakespeare movies are there? Could someone...

Is anyone else bored with current movies right now?

I totally agree. I've been to theatre twice this year, I went to see Brokeback Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Nothing else has interested me. And I don't know about the rest of the year either, there's nothing to look forward to, really.

    2007 Academy Awards Discussion

I think the most shocking moment for me was the best picture, I was hoping for The Departed to win but I thought Babel would win, it was obviously the kind of film that the Academy usually goes for. So I was pleasently surprised when they gave it to The Departed. :D

    Movie Sequels

I think POTC 2 was better than the first one so there's another non-crappy sequel. :D

You'll never get that time back - the CRAP MOVIE thread #2(NO LISTS)

The one movie I regret having paid to see is Tomb Raider. So dumb. And I can't stand Angelina Jolie. I wasn't gonna go see it but went along with the group cos I didn't want to be left out. I should have known I'm not exactly a part of the target audience (since I'm female :P).

The Departed (2006, Martin Scorsese - Spoilers)

Wow, that's good to know. I'll buy the Special Edition 2 disc DVD too, definitely. I totally agree, it was an awesome movie. And I was so shocked when Leo died, I thought he would survive. Hmm, you know I have never thought about that. I assumed he knew Matt was the rat but how would...
