I'm a bit of a film noir buff and recently caught Build My Gallows High with Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas- absolutely excellent. And you're right, here the dialogue is great, the pace is tight and satisfying without the need for big explosions.

ESB NH ROTJ / ROTS TPM AOTC ROTS almost edges ROTJ except for the terrible ending and the bad Vader voice. ROTJ has by far the best scenes (final space battle & Vader / Luke duel) and dialogue (Emperor / Luke confrontation) but is demoted for the unforgivable Ewoks.
