Most Disturbing Moment In A Film

The seamless hospital corridor scene in The Exorcist III :eek:, the high pitched shrill sound along with the quiet being ripped apart by the image of the cloaked figure behind the nurse with the surgical shears it only lasts 2 seconRAB but dwells in the mind for much longer , infact the whole film is vastly underrated and has a creepy vibe throughout.

I guess there have been more sustained violent scenes in cinema history, but few can match the impact and menace of the "snooker balls" episode in Scum. The film is tough viewing.
 
I was thinking of that while reading the thread!

Also Itchi the Killer, I only got about halfway in the film and had to turn it off, bit too gruesome for me!
 
Just watched this recently, ending was fantastic, and I cringed when that kid from This is England shoved the stanley knife in the blokes mouth
 
The scene in Excorcist where the little girl says: 'Phuck me' to the doctor. I just think of how bloody embarrassed I would be if that was my daughter and she spoke to a doctor like that.
 
That bit in Goodfellas is pretty bad, but the song playing in the background during it is FAB!!!

And Full Metal Jacket is my fave war movie ever - there are lots of disturbing bits in it. Much better than most of the macho crap you usually get in war movies. FMJ doesn't really have any heroes...even Joker is an anti-hero.
 
hmmm, sometimes the reverse is true - i watched "I spit on your grave" and thought it was fab when i was about 14. I couldnt watch it now.

i have seen Sybil, and I have to tell you that the scene in it where her mum abuses her is disgusting. And disturbed me so much that I couldn't bare to watch it again.
 
For sheer brutality, it's the scenes from Passion of the Christ!

The labotomy at the end of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is desperately sad too!
 
August Underground's Mordum was just... mentally scarring. And I never thought I could be shocked. Especially the 'bathtub' scene near the end... :eek: Did not see that coming. Just vile. Also, the 'maggot' scene.

And the 'Christmas Home Invasion' scene in Penance...
that still makes me shiver to this day. Revolting, vile... just horrific. That gets three :eek::eek::eek: from me.

I searched for the most disgusting films out there, and with this trilogy, I definitely succeeded. They are not just disturbing, they will scar you for life.

I dare you to check out Slaughtered Vomit Dolls and ReGOREgitated Sacrifice! :D For fans of VERY extreme horror only!
 
I watched the uncut Region 1 release of The New York Ripper not so long ago. The scene where he has the woman tied to the bed and slices into her nipple was pretty intense, but apart from that, I didn't really see what all the fuss was about. Quite slow moving and not enough action (not as much as I'm used to, anyway! :D).
 
The posts on this thread are why I don't watch anything remotely scary but every so often, I am duped into watching one:


The Passion of the Christ... and yet my eyes were riveted to the screen for the entire 3 hours! Pain!
Apocalypto - Most of it but especially where the jaguar grabs and tears up one of the villagers chasing after the hero and all those heaRAB rolling around and the piles of headless bodies and the animal traps that caught the bad guys ... lost my appetite for a while! If The Passion didnt put me off Mel Gibson movies, Apocalpto surely did!

Hostel - Where bad guy tells the boy he could leave after drilling holes into his body but when he gets up he falls to the floor because his ankles have been sliced!!!!! Eish! That is when I walked away!
Beowulf - Worst animation I ever had to endure! Every time Grendel appeared generally I shut my eyes but that fight scene between a nude Beowulf and a howling Grendel did me in... Grendel chewing a man and bluish-greenish juices flowing... I could have puked!
