I watched Wolverine before a lot of the special effects were added. I remember watching Hostel as well, which wasn't exactly effects laden but was weird when a lift door open and all you see is pure green in the "lift" :D

Same here with AvP. Sunshine was similar. Apart from being generally pretty rubbish I found myself staring at a black screen for every outside shot of their spaceship. It was way into the film before I'd seen enough of it to make out what it looked like.
