It's not a rom-com at all. It has more in common with Annie Hall than Sleepless in Seattle. It's about the nature of relationships, expectations and fantasy vs. reality.

i'm not sure really, i really like the original (though prefer IA2) and i'm wary of remakes though it seems professionally done

It didn't do well overseas either (Europe, Asia, etc). I was looking forward to it. It was a tremendous disappointment. :(

I'm not a fan of either lead actor but it wasn't too bad a film. Some good twists in it. I watched it because there were two films either side of it that I wanted to watch so it fitted in with my schedule. So if you have two hours to waste anyway then it's a way to fill them.
