    Try some old fashioned turpentine. Its mild enough to not bother the original factory finish, but should soften the new spray paint for easy removal.

    If it quiets down when warm, it could be piston slap from worn cylinder bore(s). This causes a knocking sound from the loose pistons until the engine warms up and the pistons expand a little.

    Don't know what your problem is, however try this: Unplug the AC cord of the TV from the wall. Leave unplugged for at least 1 hour. Plug it back in and try it out. Sometimes this kind of full system reset corrects the problem.
