If you want to stick with kicker, the zx1500.1 will do. Or any amp that makes 1500 watts RMS @ 2 ohms mono, there are a few options. You dont HAVE to give them a full 1500 watts either. 1000 watts will still hurt your ears, and be much easier on your alternator.

I agree with draggin.. both flea market brands. Save up and get a REAL amp. That performance tekcrap doesnt even do close to 2400 watts RMS. Anyways, if it really did, you would have blown your 1000 watt L7 rather quickly.

2 channel amps have been as sub amps since the beginning of car audio. In fact, they were most commonly used as sub amps before class D mono amps came to dominance in the late 90's. As long as it has a LPF or "low pass filter", you are fine (99.9 percent of 2 channel amps have a LPF). So, yes...

1. Amps dont handle subs, subs handle the power made by the amp. 2. ZX750.1 is the perfect amp for a pair of 2 ohm CVR's. If you have the dual 4 ohm voice coil CVR's, the zx750.1 is NOT a good choice.

Aaron, he is talking about a pair. You were speaking of a single sub. I dont think kicker makes single voice coil CVR's... are you sure you arent confused? And it all depends on what amp you are going to get... email me if you need more help.

Sounds like its blown. First off, the gain is NOT A VOLUME KNOB. Unhook the RCA's, speaker wires, and see what happens when you turn the car on. Also, double check all your wiring, to make sure nothing is shorted, but it sounds like the amp just gave up the ghost.

Dude, we need to know what model subs you have to suggest an amp... different subs need different wattage. Comps? CVR's? L5? L7? Also, please include the impedance, or "ohms".

While dynamt is effective for rattles, its pretty poor at blocking out road noise. If you want to lower road noise, add some carpet padding under the carpet, they sell stuff specifically for cars, just for this purpose. Used with dynamat also, its pretty effective.
