for two of those subs you will need an amp thats 800 Watt RMS. When you buy an amp always match the RMS not the Peak power. Also, don't forget to match the ohms of the subs. your subs are dual 2 ohm subs so make syure you hook them up right. If you need any more help feel free to email me.

If your subwoofers get really hot when playing them then your oeverpowering them. That could be the cause of the smoke smell. the sub could actually be burning. It could also be your amp, which is not very good either. First thing to do is find out where the smell is coming from. If its the subs...

Your subs might not play that frequency very well. Your subs will still try to so they will vibrate but the sound wont be very loud. With my subs the lower bass in King Kong is also quieter than the rest.

You would need a big power inverter, but like the other guy said. A car stereo is set up for music more than movies and would sound a whole lot better.
