I LOVED that. It was nice to see Strong Sad get a sort-of starring role. And Strong Bad getting confused? Bizarre. All the messages were hilarious. Why can't people leave funny messages on MY voice mail?!
What about Disney's Gargoyles? Or Samurai Jack on Cartoon Network? They both did have some humor, but it still stands.
It could also prove the point of many that western cartoons on TV CAN be as serious as Japanese/Eastern Cartoons. Just a nip-tick.

I don't see what's so "edgy" about that Ren and Stimpy scene, I mean, they're talking animals. Now if Ren had really been doing that to Stimpy with ultra-bloody results, then I'd be surprised.
