2 cycle engines use 2 cycle engine oil, and that oil is mixed with the gasoline. Any 2 cycle oil is fine. 4 cycle engines use standard motor oil - typically, 10W30 is just fine. And in either engine, plain old 87 octane gasoline is just fine. - Stuart
