BL isn't targeted at men. Those series are made for (and usually by) women and characters and stories are crafted in such a way to appeal to them. Not to say men don't read it, but the fanbase is largely women and girls. Males looking for series about gay men are likely to go with bara.

What I'd recommend is just make a graphic novel, or a webcomic. That way you retain all the rights to it, and keep the story the way you want it to be.

In many cases I actually prefer watching the show dubbed. Take Cowboy Bebop, for example. I find the dub to be much better than the sub. The English VAs are all perfect.
