It depends. If you "Know" he is an officer all military rules will apply. If it's a guy who just puts CPT in front of his screen name, don't bother.

When your 4 years are up you can join the Marines (if they are taking prior service at the time) but your rank will NOT transfer. The USMC does not play well with others. Also I agree that after being a Ranger you should not switch to the Marines but it's your life. Good Luck.
