i would check to see if you have a loose wire harness somewhere. the computer down under your dash and then under the hood.... if its loose it could cause this... start with that before spending any money....

i would check to see that all your wire harness under the hood are plugged in all the way... besides if the light is not on when they check it it will not give a code.. then they will probally try and bull you. Auto zone and Checker will check the light for free if it is on, so they can sell...
