My Honda Civic Blew a reservoir cap and started overheating and then the car died. Added coolant started it back up and it ran good for a couple days no overheating, then today it blew another reservoir cap and started to overheat again. Any one can help me on what might be going on? The temperature reading is perfect when idling, and when i try to run the heater no warm air comes out.

Sounds like your water pump is going out. Are you loosing water? I have a 95 Civic and it started running hot recently turns out the water pump was going bad. Check for a water leak by your water pump if it is leaking water that means you need a new pump. Oh and be prepared as changing a water pump on a Honda requires removal of the timing belt. Make sure you have them change it as well. Set me back 800 bucks on a car I just purchased. Good luck!

someone may have bypassed your heater core(the reason for no hot air coming out) and as far as overheating it could be a plugged radiator, or faulty radiator cap. the radiator cap works by raising the boiling point of your coolant 3 deg for every 1lb of pressure. if your cap is not holding the required pressure it will overheat. also check your oil for any antifreeze and check the radiator for any oil, if you have either one mixed with the other you could have a blown head gasket which would also cause overheating. also check out your thermostat. if your thermostat is working your top radiator hose should get warm after it opens and you should be able to feel if the coolant is flowing through.
