Many cameras have recording limits because of internal heat - this could be the problem here. A fast card may do the trick but if not, a limit is the problem.

For me this can be scary. Batteries and chargers are specific to each other. Any mis match can cause over heating and in extreme cases fire. I'd look elsewhere for both in the same package - batteries and charger sold together. Why take needless chances when these things are so cheap.

You heard? Where? Virtually all digital cameras talk with a PC or Mac via USB. Another thing since 95% of the planet runs on windows Apple products are not a very good choice. Try a card reader. Even a Mac should see a card reader.

Use the program mode. It doesn't pop the flash at all, I have to. I have an XS and I never shoot in full auto, only "P" Program for many reasons. Read your book you'll find some of them.
