Equal parts sugar and baking soda can work. Terro bait works real good and can be put where the pets can not reach them.

On damp leaves black pepper lightly sprinkled on the ones by the strawberries should keep them from eating the strawberries.

They do not like cedar. Cloves, thyme,ginsing,lavendar, rosemary or mint oil on cotton balls will deter them. Or these dried will. The holes will show.

You could put some borax 20 mule team cleaner in shallow containers and see if it will get in one of those. If it does, you will find it dead.

Maybe the curve in the pipe under the sink is stopped up.
