If the Check engine light is on get is scanned and then see what the code means. Alot of times people just guess and problems can look the same to the untrained eye, the codes will give you a direction to look in. Don't wait get it scanned.
have you checked the water pump to see if its getting lazy, and check your hoses and see if any feel soft or weak, at higher speeds you may be sucking a hose shut cutting off the water flow
don't rev the engine for a few days, you may have hydraulic lifters, give them a chance to pump back up, if it still does it you prob have a bad oil pump
