I ordered my h.o. alt and now i am not sure what size of dry cell would be best for my system. Its a 280 amp draw for both of my amps if that helps. oh and my stock alt is a 105 amp and my h.o. is a 250 amp. Is there a formula for figuring this stuff out???
with dvc subs you either cut their impedence in half or double it depending on the wiring....a dual 2 ohm sub can be ran alone as either a 4 ohm in series of a 1 ohm in parallel....you need an amp around 1000 rms @2 ohms.....approx. for both of the subs....you need to keep the voice coils in...
pull your radio out of course and simply unplug it from its wiring harness. The stock amp should pry be the same. Dont cut any wires cuz you can go to walmart and get an aftermarket plug that would hook directly to the harness in the jeep and then to the cd player. You could even ask a walmart...
160 bucks just aint gonna cut it if you want something thats gonna beat.....but if you do come across some more cash, alpine jl and kicker have some cheaper model subs starting at like 80 bucks a piece at sonicelectronix...i would check that site out and see what they got...
I actually have the same issue....only problem is when i called 1800pioneer they told me the faceplate would cost me 110 bucks!!! Nonetheless, i personally bought a brand new one (different model) for i think 30 dollars more....sucks cuz it was my favorite cd player and to be honest im still...
I have a cousin who has the identical set up only two of each lol But you need to wire the subs voice coils in parallel....all positives and negatives together and then to the amp....this will present a 1 ohm load on the amp and give you the maximum performance....hope you like it loud...
