There is a reservoir for the fluid. Probably located in the engine compartment on the drivers side of the firewall up near the hood. Looks like a oval container with some metal tubes coming out of it. Make sure its full of fluid. You most likely have a leak somewhere and should get it looked at...

check your coolant level. If your coolant is where it should be, I would replace the engine thermostat. If you are moderately handy with tools you can replace it. Otherwise take it to your repair shop. Its not an expensive fix and should take any longer than a couple hours.
