Videotron seems to cover its infrastructure just fine. With the a la carte plan you can pick any 20 channels for $22 or 30 channels for $30. That is on top of basic cable which is very basic ($14). I think every provider should have a similar option.
I recently set up a 4100 that is getting audio dropouts on the digital optical outputs. Analog works fine. The 4100 is on a separate shelf. I searched the threads and saw several references to this problem, but I'm not sure of the current status.

Both the sat. companies have on-line ordering so you can configure your channel selection and box choices. That will show your up-front cost including installation as well as your monthly cost and any promo credits.

joshwild, I don't know for sure if Bell track the calling number, but they don't need caller id. The box dials a toll-free number and the company that pays the bill always gets the calling number - you can't block that.
