The amplifier is not 1 ohm stable it do fine at 2 ohm and i think that what the amplifier recommend it be, only way i would run it at 1 ohm is if i have alot of battery's and h.o alternator but that don't come cheap.
I would go with ssd because it can take more wattage than l7 or type r and which everyone use them. You have more options to put on it the ssd than the type r or the l7 and ben wrong the ssd is cheaper than any of them subwoofer and i have own all and i have the ssd right now i feel it sound...

I would suggest not to bridge the amplifier because your amplifier not stable with it being 2 ohm because if you run it 2 ohms it will over work the amplifier and it break, just not bridge it and you be fine. The 4 ohm stable mean that the only load it can take if it bridge anything lower than...

You can go to your audio shop to look at good brands they have, i suggest going with alpine they have one of the best head unit but that my opinion, pioneer premier has good head unit too, if you want the ipod hook up you have to buy head unit that support it and some head unit come with ipod...
I would get 2 ohm subwoofer because then you get more power out of amplifier that has it rated power at 2 ohm, i say get kicker 1200 amplifier or us amplifier, but don't no name brand stuff because it give you dirty power and blow your subwoofer and you never get true power it say and stay away...
Yes it worth it with one it just 4ohm subwoofer the other dual 4 ohm and you can turn that subwoofer into 2 ohm by wiring the subwoofer in parallel if you need help with that go to rockford fosgate site and it show you.
