Unpopular Opinions: Not everyone thinks "Citizen Kane" is the best movie ever!

I agree that Ellen Page is overrated.

And I agree that Zooey, Josh, Michelle are underrated.

^ I actually think that Munich was better than Crash that year. I have not seen BBM yet though so I can't say anything about that.

Christina--that definitely is an unpopular opinion about Clint Eastwood....I love most of his current work and he's won many Oscars.

Good response to the thread!

Ok count me in as one who doesn't see the *mass* appeal of Angelina Jolie. I find her acting, her persona, her looks to be above average but nothing more. I think a LOT of actresses are prettier and more charming.

Do they really? Go me! Haha.

OMG, finally someone agrees with me! I don't thunk she's pretty at all, and I like that she does charity work, but I still don't see why (almost) everyone in America loves her. She got 19 pg. spread (I think it was 19 pgs.) in People magazine when her and Brad's twins were born. Seriously?! 19 pages for babies? Come on.

Cloverfield goes along fairly well until about the 2/3 mark...that's when you suddenly realize that the movie's going to end when the last person dies, and you are never, EVER going to find out what the :censored: has been going on!!!

Oh no  I don't think Jim Carrey is funny either, he was the best in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind :sigh: he should have been nommed for that

But just a few things, like I think Lost in Translation is utterly amazing :sigh:. Thats why I still love Scarlett even after lackluster movies/performances.

UO: Can Kate Bosworth please stop acting?

*Catherine* I'm with you on uo#7: Helen Mirren.

I wasn't a huge fan of her performance either! Penelope Cruz was sensational in Volver, Kate Winslet was way better in Little Children, And don't even get me started on Judi Dench in Notes on a Scandal---one of the most disturbing portrayals I've seen in a long long time.

The only ones I can think of right now

I loved Transformers ROTF

The Dark Knight is overrated

Fantastic Four kinda sucked, so that wasn't a bad move on her part.

The Dark Knight however, I wonder if she's regretting.

And I also found A Walk to Remember to be quite ridiculous. The Notebook I didn't think was that bad, but that's probably only because of James Marsden.

Here are some of mine:

There Will Be Blood bored me to no end. Though I thought that Daniel Day Lewis' acting rocked.

I don't think that Lord of The Rings deserved all of the Oscars that it did the one year.

I wasn't extremely fond of Gwyneth Paltrow's performance in Iron Man.

Michael Clayton was an okay film, but it wasn't Best Picture worthy.

I actually thought that Ben Affleck was hotter in Pearl Harbor than Josh Hartnett.

I think that Johnny Depp is slightly overrated.

I'm the total opposite of you! I liked Heath's role, but I don't get what was so great about the film. It was good, but it wasn't great - although maybe that's because I'm not really into action films...

Hahaha that is such a funny statement :lmao:! I thought that it's about war and people dying that's why I'm pleasantly surprised that it's about a man's journey in life :)

- I also didnt think Juno deserved the nominations it got. It didnt deserve best writing either, it was just weird.

- I like romantic comedies, they are not supposed to have huge twists they are supposed to entertain people.

- I didnt really like Hairspray even though Im a huge fan of musicals, and I dont understand the hype around Nikki Blonsky.

- Same goes for Dreamgirls and Jennifer Hudson.

- I hated 'The Queen' and 'Capote' such awful boring movies.

Some of my UOs:

I don't think The Notebook is the be all and end all of romantic movies. I found it melodramatic, and just "eh".

Salma Hayek deserved the 2003 Academy Award, for her compelling portrayal of Frida Kahlo. [Nicole Kidman won that year, but I found her performance in The Hours something of a bore. She should have won the previous year for Moulin Rouge.]

Meg Ryan's best romantic comedy is NOT Sleepless In Seattle it's French Kiss. Yeah, I said it.

I think Lost In Translation is the weakest of Sofia Coppola's movies. I much preferred The Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette, and I don't even think that much of Kirsten Dunst as an actress.

Um ... that's all I can think of right now.
