Nothing wrong with bringing a gun to a fist fight when you're out numbered. The problem results when the asshole with the gun defuses the situation, THEN starts executing unarmed people not on his property.

He wanted to be "Billy Bad Ass" and show these punks he wasn't going to take any shit (which is fine). When the pussies backed off and started to flee, he flipped out and executed them ... which is where he went wrong.

I do. You give another example here:

I understand your position here, I think.

It is "he should have let them actually set fire to his house, shoot into it, or otherwise inflict the harm they communcated a threat to inflict before acting in a defensive manner."

Being imprisoned in your own home while an angry mob of thugs chants for your demise isn't exactly "getting away". Still, he should have dialed 911 first. He could have at least dialed and left the phone off the hook. They would have sent something when they got around to it. And, he and his son might have still been alive. Shoulda woulda coulda right?

Ah, I see. You were there. Can you give us your first-hand account of everything that happened?

divide and conquer.
black vs white.
blue vs red.

USA, where everyone hates their own countrymen. GL with that peasants...

What if the kids had mined the house with bombs and put a timer on it so it would blow up in 4 minutes if no one came outside? He wouldn't be safe in his house then, would he?

Because if we are talking about what happened (and correcting others who accidentally described the situation incorrectly) we should stick with what happened and not change the situation. Not that Mjolinor changed the facts on purpose, but let's not go into lala land.

If I "put myself in danger" by walking out my front door, it doesn't remove my right to defend myself. I have the right to be on the street just like anybody else does. And if they attack me, I will most assuredly shoot.

And since I don't live in a shitass place like New York, I wouldn't be prosecuted for it, as long as I wasn't the aggressor.

I never said that. I just agreed that in the states you listed, he most likely would have been fine. There are plenty of pussy Liberal states that don't respect the Castle Doctrine, and even fewer would would allow you to leave the safety of your home with a gun and shoot an unarmed person who is in the public street.

Like I said before, there are very few states (only 1 or 2 I can think of), that will allow you to shoot an unarmed man not on your property after you run out of the safety of your own home and kill an unarmed person who isn't on your property. The fact is, the vast majority of states don't allow that.

Honestly, I think you are trying to judge NY laws based on the opinions of the voting public of other jurisdictions. While I think it's stupid to vote for representatives who would allow this type of law to pass, and not to immediately vote for candidates who would repeal this type of law, the bottom line is that legally voted in representatives passed these laws based on the passive will of the people of that jusrisdiction.

So what's "right" happens to be legal in NYC also. Should a minority of the people there disagree with the law, they should vote with their feet and leave. If a majority disagree with the law, they should reconsider their voting habits.

Did the kids make any attempt to break in the house?

Then what right did he have to go outside to shoot them?

It it seems that it has been established that at least one of the kids used racial slurs a couple of weeks before the shooting. It has also been established that at least one of the kids used racial slurs immediately after the shooting. It strains credibility for me to believe that those 5 kids stood outside the house and shouted, "please come out so we can beat you up." I think it far more likely that as they were egging him on to exit his home, the "N" word was used.

With that said, I also think it is absolutely irrelevant. Those kids went out of their way with the intent to commit a crime. They entered that man's property to cause an unknown amount of harm to that man's flesh and blood. That man had every right to defend his child by what means necessary. In fact, if those kids stood on the street and taunted him to pick a fight it STILL would not matter. A person has a right to defend himself and his loved ones on private property and public property.

That man had every right to enter his yard. He was under no obligation to lock himself in.

The court got this dead wrong.

No. People in a free society can choose laws amongst themselves for their community. In the US, this would be within the general constraints of the constitution. Should you dislike those laws, you can move to an area that has laws more to your liking.

Your opinion on what someone else should desire isn't worth a hell of a lot.

A hard working homeowner deserves to spray bullets into any faggot white/black that steps to him and threatens his family at his own house.
Fuck those dumb white kids, deal with it.

Seems like he could have easily called the cops and stayed in his house, waiting to shoot them if they came in. I don't really feel bad for either party in this case.
