So i bought an HTC HD7 today 
and when i finally get home to sync content onto it.. My PC installed the driver software.. then i went ahead and downloaded the latest Zune software from the Zune site... I disconnect my phone from the USB port and when the installation was completed i restarted my machine.. When i re-connected my device the driver software was installed again, and Zune software opened, I'm assuming it didn't recognize my device because it says that there is no device connected.
