I am currently enrolled at DeVry for Biomedical Engineering which isn't something I really want to do, but the money will be good.
My question is that lately I have really started looking into my passion of becoming a zoologist. The problem is that I am 25 y/o and have been out of HS for 8 years and I am in my first year at DeVry. Am I too old for the zoologist field? Also, while in HS I was never able to take my SAT's because I was in labor with my son, when I was suppose to take it. If I went to school for zoology, would I have to take the SAT's? I mean I have my HS transcript and my college transcript so far.....would that be good enough?
I am at such an educational/career roadblock.
Biomedical Engineering is a form of Science. Would it be better for me just to finish my bachelor's in this field then work on my zoologist degree?
I am trying to volunteer at the Atlanta Zoo, but I don't get interviewed for that til May.
Also, ATL doesn't have any programs in Zoology. What is the best school for the program?
Is there a high demand for zoologist?
How many years does it take before you actually achieve your status of zoologist?
I heard that in order to even be in demand you need to be published or in the top 10 of your class, is that true?
I really would like to talk to someone. I am able to be contacted by e-mail or IM.
