Zombies, Zombies and more Zombies!

Zombie films are meant to be scary, and or gory.
What is it with the comedy element of any horror films?
Horror is horror, comedy is comedy. The two don't mix

Check out Bone Sickness for a good gory zombie film.

I love Zombie movies, they are the only horror movies that truly give me the willies (bar maybe the odd slasher flick).

I think they work well as comedies, the Evil Dead, Return of the Living Dead and Re-Animator series and Peter Jackson's Brain Dead are very much black comedies as much as horror movies.

Slow moving zombies got a bit tired and clich

oh my days im so with you on that one, my favourite genre and my favourite book!!! its one of those books that has been passed round so many frienRAB, its a must read!!!

zombi flesh eaters is my favourite zombie film so far.

The thing that got me liking zombie films was actually going to the Bellshill George as a nipper with my mum & dad, can't mind what film, & they were showing the trailer for Zombie Flesheaters, (don't know if it was a mistake, but by crikey it looked a bit much for the weans back then). I wanted to see that film so bad. Still a favourite today.

as I have heard a lot before a good zombie film isn't about the zombies, its about the survivors story, yes they eat people, but the story shouldn't focus on that part.

Horror and comedy can and do mix very well, when its done right.

Shaun of the dead , is a good example and another guilty pleasure of mine are evil dead 2 and army of darkness, again its where horror/comedy go well

Another Max Brooks fan here, read the Survival Guide and yes I have a plan all ready for the apocalypse set out ;).

WWZ is an amazing read, got it when it first came out in the US and read it several times, the audio book is excellent as well. Had high (maybe too high) for the film, J. Michael Straczynski (he who wrote Babylon 5) wrote a screenplay which from all accounts Max loved, but it seems development hell and numerous re-writes have kicked in. I now fear either a crap film or no film at all. Personally I think WWZ would be perfect for a big budget Band of Brothers type mini-series, off to listen to The Trooper by Iron Maiden ;).
