Zelda - When do I get a new shield?

When should I have a new shield that doesn't burn up in fire? Should I have it before the Gordon stuff or do I get it after that?

Ah. After you beat the Goron Mines the Hylian Shield is available at the Kakariko Shop for 200 clams.

Mine burnt up too. I was going around for like 5 hours at least without a sheild

Eventually I was running around from city to city trying to find a sheild to buy so I could learn the 2nd and 3rd special attack.

I beat the game and was wondering this myself. All I ever got was a rod that you can just drop in the water. I want something you actually cast.

Near Zora's domain I think. I saw the sign when I was a wolf but forget where it is. The mailman gave me a letter about some town operating some new businesses I think. I'd image it would be the same location the gameplay trailers took place in

Yeah you can get the hylian shield before goron mines. One of the kids opened up a shop in kakriko village, he sells the shield for 200 rupees.
